An Ontology Based Requirement Rule Consistency Checking Framework

چکیده

In this paper, we investigate how ontologies developed for use in Semantic Web technology could be used in automated consistency checking of application requirements. Ontology Driven Architecture allows developers would discover shareable domain models and knowledge bases from a variety of interrelated repositories and then wire them together with the remaining objectoriented components for user interface and control. Domain knowledge base(domain Ontology) captures domain concepts, relationships and rules. Requirements rules should note violate these rules or contradict the usual business behaviour. This paper suggests a rule editing and validation framework RECC (REquirement-rule Consistency Checking)that guides an analyst to enter (application specific) requirement rules. It rests on Semantic Web technologies together with reasoning engines, which operate with semantic representations.A practical validation of the approach by instantiating this framework with OWL and reasoning engines is presented here. When requirement rules are authored with RECC the acquired requirements would comply with both business needs and domain knowledge.

Towards Ontology-driven Requirements Engineering

Requirements Engineering has a huge impact on success or failure of a software project. However, the acquisition, specification and evolution of goals and requirements from different stakeholders or sources often leads to incomplete, ambiguous, and faulty requirements. Therefore, the ability to detect and repair inconsistent and incomplete requirements is crucial to the successful modelling of ...

Increasing the Expressiveness of OWL Through Procedural Attachments

The purpose of this paper is to provide an introduction to the OWL Web ontology language, a survey focused on the current state of the art in OWL inferencing capabilities, and a historical perspective on procedural attachments. The perspective is aligned with current OWL research. Several limitations of the OWL language and proposed extensions to overcome these limitations are discussed. A fram...

A prototypical OWL Full Reasoner based on First-Order Reasoning

We report on our ongoing endeavour to create a prototypical reasoning system for the OWL 2 Full ontology language and several of its sublanguages, including RDFS and the OWL 2 RL/RDF Rules. Among the languages specified by the W3C OWL 2 standard, OWL 2 Full is the most expressive one, and several other languages, such as RIF and SPARQL 1.1, have dependencies on OWL 2 Full, but to date no reason...

Analysing Web Ontology in Alloy: A Military Case Study

Correctness is the essential requirement criteria for military web ontology based information systems. Reasoning and consistency checking can be useful at many stages during the design, maintenance and deployment of Semantic Web (SW) ontology. Formal methods can provide automatic reasoning and consistency checking services for SW. In this paper, we use military plan ontology as a case study to ...

An Executive Approach Based On the Production of Fuzzy Ontology Using the Semantic Web Rule Language Method (SWRL)

Today, the need to deal with ambiguous information in semantic web languages is increasing. Ontology is an important part of the W3C standards for the semantic web, used to define a conceptual standard vocabulary for the exchange of data between systems, the provision of reusable databases, and the facilitation of collaboration across multiple systems. However, classical ontology is not enough ...
